MAME and coin-op alike are welcome here! UPDATE: I’ve switched the guns thanks to those who told me that. I found that it’s not the gun, it’s in fact the TV.
I noticed on the gun initialize screen the working TV has the numbers 499, 272, 98, 120 whereas the not working TV has 837, 256, 98, 120. I don’t know what they mean, or how I can change it, but I think that might be my problem. Both TVs are 50” rear projection TVs, the working one is a Toshiba TP50H50, the not working one is Toshiba TN50X81Hey, so I'm very new to this whole arcade business. I had a friend that was moving and sold me his Time Crisis 2 Arcade machine, it had been unplugged in his basement for nearly a year but claims that it was working before.I've got it all set up and nearly everything working, except for the player 2 gun. It will shoot in the middle of the screen perfect, but as soon as I start shooting towards the edges it stops registering the shots. Here's a list of things I've tried that I saw on forums but didn't fix it:- Took gun apart to clean lens- Turned up brightness on TV to 100%- Turned off all other lights in the room- Cleaned the plexiglass on the front of the cabinetI'm not sure if it's an issue with the gun or with the TV, the TV's are very heavy so I haven't had a chance to switch player 1 and player 2 TV yet, but that's my next step once I have someone who can help me move them. Ive seen tvs that have the ir receiver mounted in the cabinet so that the signal can reflect off the mirror, and ive seen traditional setups.
Tjese are for the remotes and wont effect what im talking about. I did some reading and it looks like some light gun games didnt use emitters. In that case, in all likelyhood one of the settings on the tv is wrong, most likely the convergence is off.
It may not be obvious without a test pattern. Our hod has terrible convergence but looks fine when playing.

This would also explain why it shoots fine in the center, often the convefgence will be ok in the center and garbage at the edges. So I added this to the main post, but i'll put this here as well:I’ve switched the guns thanks to those who told me that. I found that it’s not the gun, it’s in fact the TV.
